  •   “He gives his king great victories; he shows unfailing kindness to his anointed, to David and his descendants forever.” Ps 18:50 (NIV)   What does God’s kindness look like? We can see it every day, if we look for it. Have we ever experienced God’s kindness? Of course we have. Does…

Do you wish you could be like that person? Do you try to take a stand only to have your position cause a problem? As children…

  •                  What do we know about this thing called joy? It is a fruit of the spirit. Joy comes from within us. Having it is better than being happy. Why is it so important, so sought after? Why do some people in our lives want to steal it from us?               …

  •     We who speak English use the word ‘love’ to describe how we feel about our spouse or that one significant person in our life. Also, we use the same word to describe our favorite flavor of ice cream or our favorite food or snack. The Greek people had four words to describe the various meanings…

  •   “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Psalm 9:9 (NIV)   From time to time in our Christian walk we face situations where we feel helpless. By this, I mean we don’t feel we have the strength to do anything to fix the issue. It seems we have to live with it.…

  • In my reading, I happened upon a fact I hadn’t realized before. In Exodus, God instructs Moses that He has a very special name, “I AM WHO I AM”. (Ex.3:14a) God then goes on to advise this hesitant emissary, “This is what you are to say to the Israelites, ‘I AM has sent you’.” During…

  •   Thanksgiving is a holiday we celebrate on the fourth Thursday of November. We, as a nation spend time preparing and or eating a ‘traditional’ dinner. During the day we may find some time to reflect on things for which we are thankful. However, thanksgiving encompasses much more. As God’s children…

  •     What does it mean to have a thankful heart? I have come to believe that we need to have a thankful heart in order to grow in the Lord. A Humbled Heart Can we appreciate an act of God and not be humbled by that one deed? Jesus Christ, by his very willingness to go to death on the cross for our sins,…
