Only twenty percent of the Body of Christ actually functions as it should and the rest are spectators. Those eighty percent are missing out on God's great blessings. When we are smack in the middle of God's plan, His ministries, then we have the best opportunity to stand under the showers of blessings that are poured out of the windows of Heaven. Amen.

A crucial fact to remember is that when God squeezes us through circumstances, people or finances, His goal is to get His "life" out of us as an extension of His own life to others. What many forget is that in order for us to be what God wants us to be, we must be willing to let Him call the shots, no matter how close or how far apart they may be. The other thing we tend to forget is that God has given us a special gift in order to do the exact work He laid out for us from the foundation of the world. Sometimes that is so hard for me to fathom, that God especially designed work for me before I was ever a twinkle in my Daddy's eye.

There are sevral types of gifts. The kind that have interested me for more than 25 years are the motivational Spiritual gifts. Those are the gifts that motivate us to keep on keeping on. They are the ones that God gifts us with from the first nano second we become Believers. Paul explains this in 1 Corinthians 12

1What I want to talk about now is the various ways God's Spirit gets worked into our lives. This is complex and often misunderstood, but I want you to be informed and knowledgeable. 2Remember how you were when you didn't know God, led from one phony god to another, never knowing what you were doing, just doing it because everybody else did it? It's different in this life. God wants us to use our intelligence, to seek to understand as well as we can. 3For instance, by using your heads, you know perfectly well that the Spirit of God would never prompt anyone to say "Jesus be damned!" Nor would anyone be inclined to say "Jesus is Master!" without the insight of the Holy Spirit.
4God's various gifts are handed out everywhere; but they all originate in God's Spirit. 5God's various ministries are carried out everywhere; but they all originate in God's Spirit. 6God's various expressions of power are in action everywhere; but God himself is behind it all.

We see 1. various gifts 2. various ministries and 3. various expressions of power. The various expressions of power are the Gifts of Manifestations. The various ministries are the Works that God has provided for us to do from the foundations of the world. The various gifts are the motivations that God has put inside us to motivate us to do His ministries. Over the years, I have seen a lot of confusion of these very separate types of gifts. They are not the same, but they all work together like well-oiled machinery. 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 and Romans 12:6-8; Ephesians 4:11-16 outline the three basic Spiritual Gifts.

Our study is only on the Motivational Gifts of the Spirit. These gifts are what make us who we are in Christ. These gifts drive our personality and define our souls so that we may all work together to make a whole. One body, one Spirit, one Baptism formulate the unity of Jesus. This is something that I believe Christ’s church is forgetting. We are so caught up in political correctness that we forget Christ’s Correctness.

Before I dig into the motivational Spiritual gifts, let's compare all the gifts:

I did not come up with this "division" of gifts. That comes from Charles Stanley in a series of sermons that I had on cassett tapes, and from Dave and Katy Fortune in their book Discover Your Gifts. I don't think you'll be able to find thos Charles Stanley tapes, but the Fortune's book is readily available.
