Don't you realize that Yeshua the Messiah is in you? (2 Corinthians 13:5)
I was visiting a beautiful old shul (synagogue) that I had not been in for over twenty years. The Jewish community had mostly moved away, so the attendance on that Shabbat (Sabbath) morning was not much more than a minyan (quorum of ten Jewish men). Since I was a visitor, I was offered an aliyah (the privilege of being called up to chant the blessings over the Torah). When I told the elderly rabbi my name, he told me that he had known my grandfather.
After the service and the customary kiddush (prayer of sanctification over a cup of wine), an old man followed me into the hallway and stood looking at me intently. He started to say: "You look more like ..." In my mind, I immediately finished his sentence for him, "You look more like a rabbi than the Rabbi" (with my full beard and dark suit, I had heard it numerous times). I was shocked, however, by what he did say. "You look more like Jesus Christ than any man I've ever seen." Hardly knowing how to respond, I stuttered through a brief conversation with him. I never found out who he was or what he knew about Yeshua, but this old Orthodox Jewish man had seen a reality that we believers often forget. He had seen Yeshua in me.
...walk conscious of who it is that dwells in me.
