The battle seemed a sure loss in his mind as the enemy receded to refortify its army. He laid his weary head uncomfortably on a stone to gather his thoughts and strategy for the next attack. As his eyes closed, retreat and surrender calmly invaded his internal perceptions and emotions of the battle at hand. They sang a melancholy song reminiscing the long past peaceful days. Its melody had a soft beat of propaganda, misinterpreting freedom and peace. The warrior’s memory walked him through his predestined life as the king’s only son. His three elder brothers died in the last great battle for the Kingdom. Though the battle was won, it was won at a great price with the blood of ten thousand warriors and the three sons of the king.
The king lived many years after in silent agony with a wounded heart. As his days faded he instilled into his youngest son the skill and character of great warriors. The young son learned the art and strategies of war but in a deep part of his heart he harbored fear. The weight of bearing the name of king for the kingdoms sake grew into a burdensome dis-quietness and apprehension. In time he grew strong in wisdom, knowledge and strength and knew the love of his father was with him until the king’s day of death.
The young man, now a leader warrior feels the force of the melodic song of retreat and surrender, for it is up to him and him alone to complete the daunting task at hand to regain the lost territory of forefathers spoken of in the heroic stories of old. This was his moment in time his father warned him of. The time the inner battle of mind and heart will rise up in full force to defeat your only chance to claim victory. It is the most sinister of enemies and will rise up from within oneself highlighting all failures, faults and fears. He remembers the lessons well as he grips tightly to his last moments of life for the future of the kingdom. This is the day and the time is now for him to speak against all opposing his purpose and calling. He must step aside from all his lowly desires and remember the call of the kingdom and the people he must free.
After finding the call and purpose for your life, you will at some point realize the plans of God are not small in any sense of the word. He has a grand plan and purpose to complete on this earth. It is a plan greater than man can comprehend and visualize. But your part, to you, will also be grand and more than you can complete on your own power. After all, God's original plan was to have Mankind dominate the earth.
If you think about it long enough this thought ups the ante'. Dominate. What are you to dominate? It can be many things. Drugs, anger and overeating are a few but that is for another book. For the purpose of this book you are to dominate your call and purpose in this life and you knowing this brings back bad memories to the enemy of your soul. He does not want you to fulfill your purpose and will do what he can to stop you. Yes it sucks, but we have inside information that will help us to do the good work God has called us to do.
1. The enemy will try to get you to question Gods word for your life.
2. The enemy will feed you lies about the new you.
3. The enemy will try to get you to repeat the negative thoughts you have of yourself.
The Enemies Strategy
Today we will cover point one.
It is certain the enemy will try to get you to question Gods word for your life. This is the same tactic he used on Eve. Let's take a look at Genesis 3.
1 NOW THE serpent was more subtle and crafty than any living creature of the field which the Lord God had made. And he [Satan] said to the woman, Can it really be that God has said, you shall not eat from every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said to the serpent, we may eat the fruit from the trees of the garden, 3 except the fruit from the tree which is in the middle of the garden. God has said, you shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die. 4 But the serpent said to the woman, you shall not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing the difference between good and evil and blessing and calamity.
The question in verse 1 is the same question, in one form or another that the enemy says to us; can it really be that God has said? In reference to our call in life we hesitate to believe in the magnitude and grand capacity of the call on our life. Our limited thoughts and defeated self, limit the strength of the vision that God has given us. The enemy could see the magnitude of Gods plan on earth and had to find a way to stop it. He had recently found out he couldn't defeat God directly so he attacked God's plan through God's image. It's important to know the enemy isn't afraid of us. He fears the power of God that can work through us if we ever get a hold of the fact that we are, in part, Gods answer to the world’s problems and we can dominate the area God has given us to dominate.
Moses questioned Gods word for him and complained he stuttered. I questioned Gods word for me for years simply because I couldn't believe His work for me could be fulfilled through me. At every set back in my life I would question if I really heard from God or if I simply had some wild dreams, visions and hopes. I've had to learn to trust more of God’s word for me than to trust my failures, faults and fears.
We will all come to this place.
You will be forced to decide who or what you will trust.
This will be a defining moment for you and your future.
