In our world today, it is almost universally believed that world events are becoming more inter related, and…more and more dangerous.

Along with these events, the world is shrinking in terms of communication, and the consequences of that shrinking is stress and danger. The causes are many and subject to much speculation. But the one thing almost all agree on is that worldwide, national and local tension over world events is rapidly increasing.

This should not be surprising in one way due to rapid communication and ease of interaction between nations and individuals. There seems to be many causes.

Several Bible scriptures shed much light on the trends of our world. Looking at scriptures and relating them to the world as we know it has always been suppositional, and subject to various interpretations.
However, the events of recent months of the year 2016-17 begin to get the attention of many who would be otherwise say its just all the world as usual.

It is time to take a look what the word of God has to say. regarding the world today.

First lets look at some of the plain statements of Jesus Christ. Some may seem rather long, but please bare with me:

“While Jesus was seated on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, and said, “Tell us, when will this [destruction of the temple] take place, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end (completion, consummation) of the age?”

Jesus answered, “Be careful that no one misleads you [deceiving you and leading you into error]. For many will come in My name [misusing it, and appropriating the strength of the name which belongs to Me], saying, ‘I am the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed),’ and they will mislead many. You will continually hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end [of the age]. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs [of the intolerable anguish and the time of unprecedented trouble].” (Matthew 24:3-8)

Many of these events have occurred over the centuries. However, not until recently has the intensity of these event become a world-wide phenomenon of almost universal concern.

Please continue these statements by Jesus in this chapter through verse 31.

That which Jesus was revealing in a few verses here in Matthew 24 is expanded in the book of Revelation, which is too lengthy to cover here. But it is of the utmost importance that we become alert and tuned in to world events as never before. World disorder and danger is due to escalate. There may be times of seeming improvement and reduction of the dangers. However, these are interludes in an otherwise chaotic and dangerous trend. These interludes only tend to cause the world to let down it’s guard. Then the crisis returns with greater threat and increased danger.

Let us remember Jesus’ warning. All of these events are just the beginning.

There is a scripture in the book of Psalms that seems to somehow stand alone among the Psalms. The whole chapter is utterly unique in all the scriptures.

I will quote it here. If it seems too long, please get a Bible and read this chapter. I will quote certain verses from the Amplified Bible, along with a very important note at the end. To receive the promises of this chapter, certain condition must be met.

Will you and I qualify for the protection during the perilous times referred to here?

"Security of the One Who Trusts in the Lord:

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!” For He will save you from the trap of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you and completely protect you with His pinions, And under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and a wall. You will not be afraid of the terror of night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction (sudden death) that lays waste at noon.

A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But danger will not come near you.

You will only [be a spectator as you] look on with your eyes And witness the [divine] repayment of the wicked [as you watch safely from the shelter of the Most High].

Because you have made the Lord, [who is] my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,

No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent. For He will command His angels in regard to you, To protect and defend and guard you in all your ways [of obedience and service].

They will lift you up in their hands, So that you do not [even] strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and cobra; The young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.

“Because he set his love on Me, therefore I will save him;
I will set him [securely] on high, because he knows My name [he confidently trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never abandon him, no, never].

“He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.

“With a long life I will satisfy him
And I will let him see My salvation.”
