I don't know who is making the decisions to give five-year-old boys white T-shirts for every occasion and activity, but it must be stopped!
My son owns white T-shirts from baseball camp, his soccer team, his favorite shoes (Okay, I bought that one, but it was such a good deal!), and possibly even some I can't think of like superheroes and brands of chewing gum. The problem is not actually with the T-shirts, but with the combination of the five-year-old boy lifestyle and the color white.
No matter the stain treatment - and I've tried them all - some phantom portion of pizza, grape soda, bicycle grease or just regular boy dirt remains to haunt me when it comes out of the dryer. (These white T-shirt stains are the sneakiest, most elusive variety. I can inspect the shirt at the conclusion of the wash cycle and the stain will have retreated to just below the surface, convincing me that I've won, only to resurface with tongue protruding after when the shirt emerges from the dryer!)
My son is notorious for wiping his hands and mouth on his shirts, especially the white ones, and they are his favorites for whatever reason. His actions create some stains that just can't be washed clean.
