There’s this “thing” I’ve been praying for…for what seems like a million years. But when I stop to count, it’s only been five years. I’ve prayed, written it down, stressed over it, even cried a few times. At times I thought this prayer was on the brink of being answered, and then it wasn’t. A couple of times I actually thought the prayer HAD been answered, but circumstances spiraled to where what I thought was an answer was only a bridge over the crevasse of my unanswered prayer.
But tomorrow, the gap will be filled, the hole patched, the prayer answered. And what I love about the answer is that it is only one GOD could have given. Tomorrow, no one else will be able to take credit for what God has done.
You are praying about something, I know you are—something that is burdening your heart and forcing you to be more dependent on God. But take courage, be hopeful.
God is listening: He will answer. In Psalm 17:6-7, David writes:
I call on you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer. Show the wonder of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes.
It might be tomorrow, it might be next year, but He will answer.
