Then he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the LORD of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6 (ESV)
An angel speaks these words to Zechariah. He relates that they were from the LORD given to Zerubbabel who had rebuilt the temple at Jerusalem.
The LORD told Zerubbabel that the work would be done by His Spirit-not any physical strength or human power.
One thing I hear as I watch the television news programs is that no one really knows the answer to the questions that we have about the Coronavirus and Covid-19. Yes, we need to take precautions to protect ourselves. We also need to pray and beseech the Holy Spirit to guide our nations in their decisions as to how we will be able to conquer this highly contagious disease.
Dear Lord Jesus, Thank You for giving us Your Spirit to guide and direct us through each day You have given us. Please continue to guide us through each circumstance that enters our lives. Please guide the scientists and medical leaders as they do research on ways to keep Your people healthy. Please wrap Your arms of love around all those who have lost someone to this disease. Draw them close to You and whisper words of love and healing into their ears. Help us as we learn to live for You. Amen.
