Refreshment in Refuge

Compare 10 years ago to today

Ten years ago I wrote myself note when I got a new job in a different town and realized I was going to have to move once again. After ten years, I've discovered something things I needed to add to this note.

Remember how much work all the painting and the additions were... but the work was worth the result...

Remember the area and that all the additions won't pay off in the resale of a mere house,,, but renovations and additions to one's soul have a huge pay off when Heaven bound...

Remember that when you say you never want to move again, it doesn't necessarily mean that God has no more plans for you to move... and God's plans turn out so much better, richer, and always further His glory and purposes...

Remember to put your hand in hand of the Man who stilled the water and wind... His miracles never cease...

Remember to trust God... for He is forever trustworthy.. Leaning on people leads to falling down, but leaning on God is the solid foundation.

Remember to know beyond doubt that His way and will is best so open your eyes to the possibilities... God always fulfills His promises sometimes today but always eventually...

Remember that your Lord started His ministry at a party... rejoice in the day with Him for the present is His eternal presence so be joyful and again I say rejoice.

Remember to keep your eyes on Him, not on the world around you... the world is full of darkness, but He is light so you'll never trip over some hidden thing with your eyes on Him.

Remember to delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you your heart's desires... desires replete with sweetness and peace and that bring Him glory...

Remember that the Lord lifts the fallen and those bent beneath their loads... pressed down but never crushed, perplexed but never despairing, persecuted but never forsaken, every once in a while struck down but never destroyed.

It will be all right. It is best to look forward and to put the things of the past behind you, look forward to the things that God has in store for you. As the time grows closer to this huge change in your life, it is great to treasure the precious people of here, but look forward to the precious people of there and most essentially, treasure the things of the Lord for there is where your heart is. His will, His way, His tomorrows for there art thou happy, and I am very, very blessed.

How does your life compare to ten years ago?
