My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent (Proverbs 1:10).
Do you find yourself being pulled into sin or unbiblical thinking through the influence of others? Your journal is a great place to process the truth found in Proverbs 1:10.
Use your journal to explore the following:
Do you have friends, relatives or coworkers who encourage you to sin?
- How do you respond to them?
- Have you allowed ungodly influences into your life through the media?
- Recall and write about a time when you gave into sin as a result of peer pressure. How did it affect your relationship with God and others?
- Have you confessed your sin, repented, and asked God’s forgiveness? If not, use your journal to do so now.
- Write a plan for standing against the pressure to sin, and then write a prayer, asking for God’s help and strength to walk in godliness.
- Consider who can be an accountability partner. Write about what would make him or her ideal.
- Write a thank-you letter to God for His wonderful gift of forgiveness and grace.
