Prove It!
Date Posted: August 1, 2007

For what if some did not believe? Will their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without effect? Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written: That You may be justified in Your words, and may overcome when You are judged (Romans 3:3,4 NKJV).

In recent months I’ve met a lot of atheists, agnostics, wiccans, and so on. They are very hostile to Christianity and mock those who truly believe the Bible. I’ve even met Christians who do not really hold to the truth of the Bible. It’s been a bit disheartening to come across so many who mock, deride, and are downright hateful toward God and His Word.

In the midst of all of the skepticism, it is important to remember that people’s opinion and hatred toward God and the Bible does not change the truth of God’s Word.

In the margin of my Bible it indicates that when it says, “let God be true,” that it means to let God be found true. I see that as God proving Himself to us again and again. He does that multiple times in our lives.

If you have doubt that is resultant from unbelievers mocking you and or God and His Word, let God prove Himself to you again and again. Stay in the Word. Journal. Jot down your thoughts each day as you read the Bible. You’ll be amazed at how the Bible will speak to you and to your every day situations and issues. Become a person of prayer, and you’ll be encouraged by the consistent answers to prayer that come. Make a point of making note of the evidences of God in your life.

Then, when the winds of deceit blow, when the mockers try to convince you that the Bible isn’t true and that God is a liar, you’ll have plenty of ammo to fight against their lies with the truth. If you take the time to listen to God, to read His word, and especially to record your journey in a journal, you’ll find that time and time again, God is found to be true.

Father, we thank You that You are indeed faithful, and that You can be found to be true. We thank You that evidence of Your faithfulness abounds, and is around us each and every moment of every day. Open our eyes to Your faithfulness, and the validity of Your Word. -- Amen.

Jot down 10 times God has proven Himself to you in the past. Consider making documentation of God’s faithfulness a regular part of your life.
