Put away from you false and dishonest speech, and willful and contrary talk put far from you.
The last two weeks I talked about the strategies of the enemy after finding the call and purpose for your life. (You can find those two articles in the archives.) You will at some point realize the plans of God are not small in any sense of the word. He has a grand plan and purpose to complete on this earth. It is a plan greater than man can comprehend and visualize. But your part, to you, will also be grand and more than you can complete on your own power. After all, God's original plan was to have Mankind dominate the earth.
Today we will talk about talking.
3. The enemy will try to get you to repeat the negative thoughts you have of yourself.
Proverbs 18:21 - NAS – Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
Matthew 12:37 - "For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned." (Jesus)
Matthew 15:11 - "It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man." (Jesus)
James 3:6 - And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell.
Romans 10:17 - Yet faith comes from listening to this message of good news – the Good News about Christ.
"Say it! Say it! Come on, say it, say it, say it. You know it's true. Your daddy was right and so is your spouse. You just can't get it right. You screwed up and you should be ashamed of yourself. So you might as well say it because you know it's true." Howls the enemy of your soul.
The enemy has a couple of reasons why he wants to feed you constant lies into your thought process. First off he wants to keep your mind occupied on your failures, faults and fears. If you follow his lead on that then he has put the noose around the throat of your future. Second is he wants you to repeat the negativity and lies he is feeding you. This lines you up in agreement with him and tightens the noose and he is one step closer to killing your chances of pursuing the call on your life.
This scripture is powerful and when studied, meditated on and imprinted in your mind will help you defeat self loathing thought and actions. 2 Corinthians 10:5 - NAS – We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
It is a mental and spiritual fight to combat the enemies lies about you. It will be tiresome at time but if you keep fighting and destroying every thought that is contrary to God's word, you will experience noticeable change in your life. It is vital, crucial, essential and any other synonyms along these lines that you stop repeating the negative and lies. Even if you don't say anything at all, don't repeat all those evil and sinister thoughts. Every time you repeat those thoughts you slowly separate yourself from the call on your life. Those thoughts are divisive, destructive and debilitating. Depending on where you are in this path with Christ, it will take time to learn to stop repeating.
You will also need to start countering the negative lies with the truth. This is part of the battle. Counter attack. Read the word and repeat it excessively. It's hard to do at times but if you keep at it you will gain ground in your mind and recognize an attack quicker and respond quicker. This is all part of the defining who you are and the strength you possess.
Fighting a battle in your thought life is a principle step that must be acted on to "find the call" for your life. This step will will separate the men and women from the boys and girls in God's game plan to redeem Mankind. To fulfill the call on your life, this discipline must be practiced daily or you will forever be tormented by the enemy of your purposed future.
You have what it takes to do the work God has called you to do.
You have been created in the image of God.
You are an answer to someones need.
It will take all you have and more to fulfill the plan but God has your back and will always be at your side. He just needs you to show up and commit to the plan and prepare for battle.
