Last week I sent out a survey on your Christian Walk. It was very interesting to note the very small response I got to this. I went to the Lord this morning and ask Him, What is it with people? Why did they not respond? This was His reply. (NOW to those of you who did not respond, you know if this is you or not. So don't take offence. There is a small percentage that things happened and you were not able to complete. Okay?) 1. It did not pertain to their likes and dislikes, their personality, or the natural things of their life. 2. Many were too busy to respond. 3. Many did…  ( Click for more )

Rules of Survey (Only the brave can take this one!)

You have to use your head to think!

You have to be honest with yourself!

You have to pass this on to at least one person you trust, that knows how to pray for you.

P.S. -

No matter who you are, please send back to lgmendenhall@msn.com , I am interested in seeing the different responses to this survey! Have a blessed day!

1.) Are you a born - again Christian?

2.) On a scale of 1 to 10 how important would you say regular church attendance is?

3.)Do you consider yourself to be a "strong…  ( Click for more )

I know when Paul is talking about his 'thorn in the flesh", he is talking about demonic forces. But how do demonic forces come against someone? Most of the time they use people! Especially Christians, who are deceived into believing they are doing the Lord's work or think that they are justified in how they treat someone else! So I have a question for you today. Are YOU being someone's "thorn in the flesh"? Are you allowing the devil to use your tongue as a weapon on another brother or sister in Christ? You do know that no matter what denomination you are, if you are…  ( Click for more )

Friendship? What does that word mean to you? Does it mean a casual acquaintance? Does it mean through thick and thin? Does it mean to the death? Does friendship mean one who is a yes man to you all the time? Is there friendships in your life that you have put above God and His laws? Is there a friend in your life that you have to constantly bow down to their wishes to keep them happy? To keep their friendship?

I want to talk about God's kind of friendships. I believe that the Bible sets down rules and guidelines for godly friendships. Lets see what He says.

Proverbs…  ( Click for more )

I have decided to put all of my eggs in one basket! I have decided to go whole-hog after one thing. I have decided to take a chance, get back in the race, give it my everything, not look back and head towards my finish line. I have decided to get out of the boat and walk on the water. I have decided to follow Jesus. I have decide to take up my cross and follow Him.

What do I have to lose? What do I have to gain? What do I have to go back too? What in this world is worth living for? Who in this world is worth losing my spiritual rewards for? I can think of nothing and no one…  ( Click for more )

What is your lifestyle like? How do you respond to problems? What do you do when trouble comes? When blessings come? How do you handle everyday life? In the good and in the bad? What is YOUR lifestyle of responding to situations and the conditions of your life?

Praising God and offering up thanksgiving is my lifestyle. I choose to praise God at all times. I praise Him and thank Him in the shower, when I bless my food, when I get dressed, when I clean house, when things are going good, when things are going bad, when I have plenty, when I have none, when I am well,…  ( Click for more )

As I was making my morning coffee, I was thinking about some things that I needed to give away to someone who could use them. My mind automatically started going through a list of people who might could use these things. It (my thinking process) went through a list, rejecting some for this reason or that. Then my heart CHECKED me! Do you know what I mean? My heart (conscience) said Whoa! Wait just a minute! Why can't they have these blessings? My next thoughts were along the lines of, what they did to not deserve this blessing. Oh My! Is that what God's love would think? Is that how…  ( Click for more )

We have said in the past that we confess, “God meets all my needs according to His riches in glory…” Then we have said, “we go right behind that and nullify it by saying I am broke. I can’t pay my rent, etc…” But this is not so! Number one we confess that GOD meets are needs, not us. If we were able to met them we wouldn’t have to confess He would. Number two, when we say we can’t pay our rent and we are broke- we are! We can’t! We have been trying and failed miserably. So what are we NOT SAYING? We are not saying GOD can’t…  ( Click for more )

Do you "love" God? Are you "in love" with Christ? Do you "love" the Holy Spirit? How do you know? Is their a way to measure to see how much we love God? Can we love Him more or less?

First you have to realize that the love the Bible talks about is not "a feeling". Feelings can follow the action of love but feelings are not the measuring stick for love of God or love of one another. So what is?

1 John 4:20-21

20 If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love…  ( Click for more )

Envy in it's simplest form is jealousy. The word of God says Love does not envy. (1 Corinthians 13:4) Love does not resent or is not jealous when someone else is promoted or blessed. Those that do not envy are willing that others should be placed above them. Envy is not grieved because another possesses a greater portion of earthly, intellectual or spiritual blessing. Those who have this pure love rejoices as much at the happiness, blessing and good will of others as they do in their own. To envy is to feel uneasy, mortified or discontentment at the happiness of others.…  ( Click for more )

Love is longsuffering...I was looking up scriptures on the "God kind of love" the other day. I had decided that I had let my love walk slip and wanted to tighten my belt, so to speak. So I started with the great love chapter. I am sure you all are aware of which one I speak of...1 Corinthians 13...As I read down to verse 4 the New King James says Love suffers long, and the words LOVE SUFFERS jumped off the page at me! Well duh! I have read this scripture in my life time I know many times, but the light bulb went off. Love suffers!

This was an answer to a question…  ( Click for more )

One day as I was praying the Lord showed me that I had withdrawn from the body of Christ to a great degree. Even though I was still functioning and taking care of my Christian duties, [studying, praying, teaching, ministering], I had built a shell of protection around my heart to keep people from entering in and getting too close. He begin to deal with me about hurts that I had received from different ones in the body of Christ, (you know sometimes we don't need the enemy - we do a good job of seriously wounding our own). The sad thing was I didn't know what to do about it. All…  ( Click for more )

Are you assembling or disassembling? Do you find yourself making excuses as to why you "don't have to be at church every time the doors are open"? And saying things like, "I have done that before and I got burned out!" Or things like, "That is legalistic thinking, I am free to do what I want!"

I believe with all my heart that these are just excuses for our flesh! Now think about it. Don't you think your inner man, the real you, the part connected to God Almighty loves being in the presence of God? Loves hearing the Word of God? Loves being around…  ( Click for more )

Moses made a firm decision. He wanted God more than the things of the world. The Israelites however, wanted God and the things of the world. They had not separated themselves in their hearts from the world which resulted in their inability to separate what was of the world and what was of God. Do you have a clear distinction of what is of God and what is of the world? Or, are the lines blurred in your heart? Do you find yourself watching movies that have foul language? Or maybe movies that implies infidelity? Listening to off-color jokes from friends? Taking things from your office…  ( Click for more )

Go? Go where? You have to have a road to travel down before you can travel. Are you confused about where your next step is supposed to be? What road are you supposed to travel down? Basically, what is the will of God for your life? Well guess what? You and about one million other people in this world we live in are wondering the same thing.

There are people who love God with all their heart, soul, and mind yet do not have a clue of what God's plan is for their life. What's worse, they don't even know how to go about finding out. The biggest problems with Christians today is…  ( Click for more )

WHAT EVIL DAY?(PART2)

Okay, so now we have established that we are unprepared for war, so lets see what we can do. My suggestion is RUN FOR THE HILLS! The hills of God that is! In Psalm 27:5 The Amplified Bible says, "For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; in the secret place of His tent will He hide me; He will set me high upon a rock." The New King James Version states, "For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock." Matthew Henry…  ( Click for more )

Are you experiencing and evil day? What is an evil day? In Ephesians 6:13 The Amplified Bible says Therefore put on God's complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]. And in The Message it states, Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet. An evil day would better be interpreted an evil season.…  ( Click for more )

Ever heard the saying, "Don't be too heavenly minded to be any earthly good." For most of us that is not the case. In fact, the opposite could be true: 'we are too earthly minded to be do any heavenly good!' Sometimes we can get to the place where we are frustrated with others because we think that they should be on 'our level' of thinking or believing. Then we get critical or impatient because they don't have the same thinking on a certain subjects or have the same commitment level we do for the Lord. Let me tell you, not every person is going to be as committed as you…  ( Click for more )

Have you ever got to the place where you don't care and you don't even care that you don't care? Does this statement make sense to you? You know the place I am talking about? That place where you can hear a truth or a fact about yourself that needs desperately to be changed but you really don't care that you have the problem or that attitude? There is a part of you deep inside, that recognizes, "this is dangerous territory". And it even scares you because you know that your attitude should bother you-but it doesn't.

You have a MAJOR CASE of hardening of your…  ( Click for more )

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

Do you know what mully-grubbing is? It is red-neck-southern talk for complaining and murmuring! It is literally the opposite of being thankful and grateful. Many of us were not raised to say thank you or to be thankful. A lot of us were raised around mully-grubbing and complaining and that is all we have heard growing up. So now we have a hard time telling someone thank you for things they do for us. We also have a hard time telling God thank you and KEEPING…  ( Click for more )
