The recent flap over deposed Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill has raised some eyebrows concerning the plans of President Bush when he first took office. According to documentation provided by O'Neill, Bush had plans to attack Iraq and remove and capture Saddam Hussein early in the administration. O'Neill's comments, documents and such are the focal point of a new book written by Ron Suskind, The Price Of Loyalty. Other Bush informants are cited in the book concerning their observations and knowledge of the President.

Such things are not new. Practically every administration has had its detractors who rise up from the ranks of the dismissed or the disgruntled. Our nation is certainly not alone in this kind of experience and it is not the sole domain of matters of state. God's kingdom has experienced similar things on a smaller scale wherein fired clergy, priests, bishops and the like have fired back salvos of revelations concerning their former employers.

Retribution can be sweet revenge for some. Whether it is couched in the mantra of "public trust" or cloaked with the shroud of simple suspicion it is, for the one wielding it, a trusty sword which can "even the score." God understands these things.

He has been affected by just such an event. At one point He had to forcefully dismiss a number of His angels who became insurgents. It took a war to accomplish it. "And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And they overcame by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." Revelation 12:7-9,11

Satan has been trying to get even with God ever since. His jealousy and hatred of God have poisoned the world for millennia. He's good at what he does; very good. But God's better. And He is still in charge.
