I thank you because I am awesomely made, wonderfully; your works are wonders—I know this very well (Psalms 139:14).

The eye measures only one inch in diameter. Yet it can see objects as far away as the distant stars and as small as a grain of sand. It can adapt to various shades of light and dark. The eye can distinguish among more than 150 different colors. It can judge distances and discern the thickness of objects. The eye can focus even when the head is moving. It is a wonderful creation that gives us the ability to perceive our environment better.

The heart weighs less than one pound. It beats 10,000 times every day and pumps over 75 gallons of blood through its chambers every hour of every day. It is responsible for circulating the blood supply through 100,000 miles of blood vessels throughout the body.

The brain weighs three pounds. It is the master control center of the body. There are 100 billion neurons in the brain that control all of the systems of the body, enabling us to think and move.

These organs are wonderfully made. They are so intricate and yet so simple. They defy man's ability to totally comprehend their workings, and yet they have inspired such inventions as the telescope, the artificial heart and the computer. These organs attest to the awesomeness of their Creator.

...praise God for his wonderful creation—me.
