Devotional: 4th of Tammuz

For I have made myself known to him, so that he will give orders to his children and to his household after him to keep the way of ADONAI (Genesis 18:19).

One of our greatest desires, as followers of Yeshua, is to see our families come into the Malchut HaShem (Kingdom of God). Whether it is our children, parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, cousins, aunts or uncles, we want to know that their names are written in the Sefer HaChayyim (Book of Life), and that we will all be in eternity together.

I was raised in a godly Messianic Jewish home, by parents who were in the ministry and who believed strongly in family salvation. They prayed for families to know the Lord, and it happened.

One of the teachings I heard while growing up was from this wonderful Scripture passage about Avraham (Abraham). God said that he has made himself known to Avraham so that he would give orders to his children to keep the way of Adonai [the Lord]. God actually went beyond family salvation and said that this extended to his "household" as well. Some have guessed that Avraham had a household of 2000-3000 people because of his great wealth. This meant that, including family and household, Avraham was spiritually training up a "congregation" of thousands, and they all believed in the one true God!

The fact that God wants to save families is taught all through the Scriptures. Examples of family salvation include Noah, Jacob, Joseph, Rahab, Joshua, Cornelius and Timothy, to name just a few. Family salvation is God's will! Have faith, pray for your families, and share with them as God opens the door. What a glorious day it will be when our families are united with us in the Messiah!

...exercise faith for my family to come to know the Messiah Yeshua. I will stand on the Lord's promises and the examples in Scripture for my family's total salvation.
