(after the death of their son of adultery) David went and comforted his wife Bathsheba. .they conceived a son. When he was born they named him Solomon (who would become the next king of Israel). 2 Samuel 12:24a
Most laws condemn the soul and pronounce sentence. The result of the law of my God is perfect. It condemns but forgives. It restores - more than abundantly – what it takes away. Jim Elliot

Now the Lord loved (Solomon) and sent word through Nathan the prophet, and he named him Jedidiah (chosen beloved one) for the Lord’s sake. 2 Samuel 1324c, 25
(God chose Solomon, not the oldest, among David's many sons to be heir to the throne and the ancestor of the Messiah) When we wholeheartedly turn from sin, God not only forgives, but is free to give us the best of His blessings which our hearts are now ready to receive.

.when King David heard (that his firstborn son Amnon had raped his half sister Tamar), he was very angry (but did nothing) 2 Samuel 13:1-21
Anger is no substitute for resolving a problem.

.David didn't discipline Amnon (first born son). Absalom (another son) quit speaking to Amnon--not a word, whether good or bad--because he hated him for violating his sister Tamar. 2 Samuel 13:22
Some folk think it's a dead issue, but sometimes, when issues aren't resolved, they tend to fester. Cruz Reynoso

.after two full years (of hating Amnon) . Absalom commanded his servants, ‘. when Amnon's heart is merry with wine (at the party I am giving; at my commmand), put him to death.’ 2 Samuel 13:23-28
Nursing unresolvedable anger only leads to hatred; choosing to let go, to even forgive allows feelings and emotions to disipate rather than to crescendo into irreparable harm.
