'Christ in You...'

The Best Bible Translation

There are so many translations of the Holy Scriptures today! There are new ones continually it seems.

Which one are we to choose?

This is an important question if one desires to truly understand what was originally intended for the Bible to convey. There are many commentaries for each of the translations. Then there are commentaries on the commentaries. For a sincere seeker of what the truth of God intends, it is sometimes like organized confusion.

But there is a solution to this quandary - that will be our best guide through the maze, into the truth of the scriptures. There is only one inerrant and perfect Translator and Interpretor of the Bible: the Holy Spirit.

If we are surrendered to Jesus Christ, He has sent us "another Comforter", who will leads us into all truth. Part of that truth is the Holy scriptures. And since it was the Holy Spirit who inspired the original thoughts and revelations, it follows that only He can correctly reveal the truth concerning the written word of God:

"However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you]". - John 16:7

We must allow Him to reveal the truth of the words of the Bible as we are willing to obey and apply it to our lives. If we do not have the Holy Spirit living and working in us, then we are left to our own human feelings and opinions guided only by human impulses.

When we yield to the working of the Holy Spirit, He will lead us into all truth that God has for each of us. Shortly prior to Jesus' death He comforted the disciples concerning their lack of understanding of His purpose and destiny. He began to speak more plainly concerning what would occur after his death and resurrection:

"I have still many things to say to you, but you are not able to bear them or to take them upon you or to grasp them now. But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future]. He will honor and glorify Me, because He will take of (receive, draw upon) what is Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you." - John 16:12-14 (AMP)

The Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit as originally given. If the Holy Spirit is the real Author, then only He can reveal what He originally intended to be understood. Therefore, only the Holy Spirit - if He is living in us - can lead us to the truth of what He originally inspired.

As you study the scriptures, ask, and then allow the Holy Spirit to direct your understanding of what you are reading. Ask Him to reveal the scriptures as to how to apply them to your life as you yield to God's intended meaning.

Without depending on and yielding to the Holy Spirit, there will always be confusion, misunderstands, and therefore errors in our living as Christians, especially regarding the Bible.

Yield to the Holy Spirit. He will lead you into all truth, as Christ lives in you through Him.

" But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future]. He will honor and glorify Me, because He will take of (receive, draw upon) what is Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you."
