Heart to Heart

No More Tomorrow's
Date Posted: January 19, 2011

One of the joys of this online ministry is when we get an e-mail stating that our devotional is exactly what someone needed at the time. We are amazed each time we hear this and thank God that He would use us in such a way.

In a recent devotional, my husband wrote about sharing the good news to my sister Judy. He ended the article with the words: None of us is promised tomorrow!

We received so many e-mails from our readers after that article. Some of the e-mails stated that they too, like me, have loved ones who do not know Christ and they are scared for them. Still others wrote thanking Kirk for modeling boldness to them in this world where even Christians are ashamed of the gospel and refuse to talk to their loved ones about Jesus.

However, the e-mail that simply took our breaths away came from a friend of ours who lives in Monroe, Michigan. Instead of telling you what she said I have pasted her e-mail below:

Pat & Kirk-
Just sitting at my desk catching up on some e-mails and read Kirk's article about Judy.

No, we don't know when our last breath will be. I am attaching a picture of my car...that I was in at 2:10 this afternoon. There was a minute there when it flashed through my mind that I may not make it out. By the grace of our loving God...I did...without as much as a scratch. But, what a relief to know...that it would've been OK it was my last minutes here...because I know I would've been in Heaven the next minute.

God bless you both for reaching out and ministering. Too many people are caught at their last minutes, unprepared. You are changing that. Praise God.

Love you both,
Cheri

The picture that was attached was a picture of an overturned car in a ditch. The car was totaled, while Cheri came out of it quite alive. PRAISE GOD! However, sadly I must report that my sister Judy’s tomorrows have all ended. She passed away tonight January 17th, at 7:17pm, surrounded by her loving family. We are so grateful that we got the chance to pray with her right before Christmas, as she embraced Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior.

It’s nights like this that make our calling to preach the gospel even more compelling! We will never stop until we too have no more tomorrows. But until then…

I am not ashamed of the gospel,

because it is the power of God

for the salvation of everyone who believes.

Romans 1:16
