One Woman's Pilgrimage

    by Linda Bush Cannon

SHALOM
Date Posted: November 4, 2007

The world around me rages
A never-ending storm
The pressures, stress and heartache
Each day new pain is born

But in the midst of all this
A seed of peace is grown
I lift my eyes toward Heaven
And find Your sweet shalom

A calm beyond all logic
Begins to bathe my heart
If only I will be still
My anxiousness departs

Oh Master of the ages
That You would notice me?
That You would note my struggles
That You would set me free

My thoughts I place before You
Now captive to Your will
All strongholds now are broken
Obedience fulfilled

The lifetime peace I fought for
But couldn’t seem to find
Is found in sweet surrender
Within Your boundary lines

My heart is free and dancing
It soars before Your throne
I love You, precious Father
In You is my shalom
