Dollar bills, y'all: money, money, money
Date Posted: November 12, 2023

When I heard our celebrity president’s approval of same sex marriage, that theme song from Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice kept running through my head. I connected the dots immediately. Then I read the article about how much more money was pouring into his campaign coffers and that song started up full-amped in my head. I had to look up the lyrics to it even though I watch that show every Sunday evening because I love to watch small group dynamics at work. Reality shows are not real. I get that. But, that isn’t today’s discussion. What is it between the Media and those who drive the media train and the homosexual agenda? Look at the title again and you’ll know what I believe it is.

First, Christians lose the argument of homosexuality is a sin because the opposing forces use the trump card at the beginning of the argument: We’re all sinners. That’s the basic, bottom-line and there’s no arguing with that. We are. We all fall short of the glory of God. So we tuck our tails and run home with bloody noses. The bullies struck home and we lost another one.

That is only the first Truth, though, on that road to redemption. The second Truth is that God loved us while we were yet sinners. How that is possible, I cannot fathom. I look at the dregs of the earth and I wonder how can God love that? What is so lovely about murderers, adulterers, prostitutes, tax collectors, liars, sexual perverts, and child abusers that He can love them… us? Because He did, and He does. He made a plan to save us from that sin, to drag us from that muck and mire, to wash us sparkling clean with no wrinkle, blemish or spot in His Son’s blood. That is love beyond description.

That brings us to the third Truth. Jesus willingly gave Himself as the cleansing flood to make us white as snow, pleasing to the Lord, a rising fragrance in His nostrils. He bore the shame, looked beyond it to the joy past the cross. What joy floods my soul because He did. It is called redemption, the exchanging of something precious to pay a debt that is impossible to pay any other way. Selah!

The answer to the argument is the fourth Truth. Repentance. It is an absolute necessity that we repent in order to be redeemed. There’s no other way. God’s viewpoint is not how many sins, what kind of sins, worst sinner or best sinner. God’s viewpoint is repentant and unrepentant. The truth of that is found in Romans 1. The Message states it this way:

Romans 1:28 Since they didn't bother to acknowledge God, God quit bothering them and let them run loose. 29 And then all hell broke loose: rampant evil, grabbing and grasping, vicious backstabbing. They made life hell on earth with their envy, wanton killing, bickering, and cheating. Look at them: mean-spirited, venomous, 30 fork-tongued God-bashers. Bullies, swaggerers, insufferable windbags! They keep inventing new ways of wrecking lives. They ditch their parents when they get in the way. 31Stupid, slimy, cruel, cold-blooded. 32And it's not as if they don't know better. They know perfectly well they're spitting in God's face. And they don't care—worse, they hand out prizes to those who do the worst things best! The Message

Are we to be ruled by our sexual attractions, and defined by them or are we, as humans, more in control than that? Do we let loose our animal-like rage when we are spurred to anger, or do we control that demon? Do we allow lust to overwhelm us even in the most inopportune moments like in a board meeting, or do we control that urge? Which is the true self: The animalistic cave man, or the more reasoned, self-controlled person? Why is it assumed that sexual attractions are more “real” and true to one’s own self, and manic rages are not? Are they not both emotional reactions to situations and directed toward the human that caused the reaction?

Being “born this way” is the legacy given to us by the first two fallen humans in the world. The difference is choosing to be true to the redeemed self, the cleansed and purified self; and resisting the carnal nature. Being true to God is being held to a higher standard, of course; and acknowledging God’s ultimate holiness, His power, His reign releases us from His judgment. On this earth, in this time, we are not judges. We know the health of the tree by its fruit, no doubt. But judging another person’s sin is not our job right now. James said that the prayers of a righteous man avail much. Judging wastes time and energy that God wants directed in prayer and in bringing Him glory for that is why we were created and why we were redeemed!

There is .3% (2010 Census) of the United States’ population openly admitting they are homosexual living with their homosexual partners. That is far lower than the supposed 10-20% of our population being homosexual; and it is less than one million people. Yet, we are subjected to in-your-face homosexual agendas on a daily basis in the press, on television, and in movies, not to forget internet and other media venues. After our president settled in the trough of same sex marriages, there has been “an uptick” in his campaign donations said his campaign financial director. Obama has always been a promoter of the gay agenda. He repealed the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” military rule; and last year instructed the Justice Department to “to stop enforcing the Defense of Marriage Act, which denies federal recognition of same-sex marriages.” Chad Griffin, an Obama bundler and incoming president of the gay advocacy group Human Rights Campaign, said “Most prominent gay donors had been supporting Obama all along despite his reluctance to champion gay marriage. Most had already given the maximum contribution to his campaign.” This is why, then, the agenda is so prevalent in our society; and why presidential candidates, Hollywood actors-writers-directors-producers (mostly producers) have to say publically, “No judgment, it is okay if you want to engage in homosexual intercourse… oh, and for same sex partners to have children.” Money, money, money, money!

Talkin' bout, talkin' bout - cash

I know that money is the root of all evil
Do funny things to some people

Give me a nickel, brother can you spare a dime
Money can drive some people out of their minds

For the love of money
No good, no good, no good

For the love of money
Don't sell ya soul for the money - no, no
