Where's the Christian Storm?
Date Posted: July 23, 2017

It seems that the media has become overly concerned about making the rules rather than reporting.

Last year, you may remember, Bruce Springsteen's bullying North Carolina because he didn't like the "new" law about men using the men's room and women using the women's room. He got astounding accolades for his stance both from his peers and from the press.

Numerous famous people have been spouting hate speech against our president. When they do, such as when Stephen Colbert used foul word-imagery comparing Trump and Putin, he got roars of approval from his audience. This has been the response that most famous people receive: Resounding approval for these points of view.

How is it that .0001% or less of our population can stir up such a storm? The press is all over them reporting what they say, what they do, what their point of view is IF it aligns with what the liberal media believes is true.

Hundreds of media pick up those points of view and record those voices. The more publicity appears the raunchier the spouting gets as in the case of Kathy Griffin and her holding up the effigy of the bloody head of Pres. Trump.

On the other hand, when conservative views are spoken, as in Charleton Heston’s speech to Harvard Law students in 1999 or his speech to the Time Warner stockholders, the media are not so effusive.

But let’s take a peek at that speech to the stockholders. In it he expressed his disgust of the lyrics to Ice-T’s rap song Cop Killer (1992). He read every repulsive word of Ice-T’s fantasy of killing policemen. Years later, after Ice-T landed the role of a detective on Law & Order, he reconciled it by saying in both instances it is merely acting. He never killed a cop, so it’s okay to incite mayhem in the name of freedom of speech. Twenty something years later, those teenagers that sang that song along with Ice-T are now closing in on the age of 40 if not there already.

Time Warner said the right to freedom of speech was the reason they refused to remove Ice-T’s album from sale. Actually, the first amendment states that congress shall not make a law abridging freedom of speech. Our forefathers presumed their descendants had enough commonsense to forgo hate speech…and songs.

Congress makes laws, but does not decide what is sin or not sin. Society does not decide what is sin and what is not sin, nor does society have the right to determine what is wrong and what is right. There is a Plumb line that is our standard, and it is not what every celebrity that can gather the most support for a particular idea or movement says is moral.

I am appalled at what Steven Van Zandt declared: “You gotta hurt people economically to have them do the right thing morally. We’re going to try and stop this right now, hopefully other people will rise up and join us.”

What does this guy know of morals? He was married by Little Richard!

My question is this: How can requiring males and females use associated gender restrooms be discriminatory?

On the other hand, we can definitely see what inroads Hollywood has made for the homosexual’s agenda. Back in the 1970s (and before), society recognized the biblical authority that homosexuality is a sin. The LGBT poured money into Hollywood because they recognized the power of suggestion. If people saw their favorite stars accepting the lifestyle, if they saw good humor associated with the lifestyle then society would be more accepting of it. It worked. The percentages of acceptance grew from 17% to 80% over the next 45 years to the point that people who now declare that homosexuality is a sin are booed and hissed like Piers Morgan did to that beauty pageant contestant.

Messages are persuasive. Young people hearing songs that instruct on how to kill cops hearing the message that the homosexual lifestyle is normal will live accordingly if they are not well-grounded, well-rooted in the Bible.

As the Harvard Crimson reported, Charleton Heston said in 1999:

"You must be willing to experience discomfort," Heston said, "I'm not complaining, but my own decades of social activism have left their mark on me."

As an example, the 74-year-old actor related his own experience grappling with Time-Warner over the release of rapper Ice-T's album "Cop Killer."

Heston, a former Time-Warner shareholder, was outraged by the lyrics "celebrating ambushing and murdering police officers," and attended the annual stockholders' meeting to "simply read the full lyrics of 'Cop Killer,' every vicious, vulgar, instructional word."

The hoopla over his objections to the album, Heston claimed, will "keep him from ever being offered another film by Warner Brothers or getting a good review from Time magazine."

Just as he did before the shareholders, Heston rapped to the courtroom audience yesterday: "I got my 12-gauge sawed-off/I got my headlights turned off/I'm about to bust some shots off/I'm about to dust some cops off."

Heston warned his audience about the pressure to perform exerted upon them by society, even at an academic institution like Harvard.

"You, here in the castle of learning on the Charles River, you are the cream," Heston said. "But I submit that you and your counterparts across the land are the most socially conformed and politically silenced generation since Concord Bridge."

Placing the burden of stopping the "rampant epidemic of new McCarthyism," on students, Heston asked, "who will defend the core value of academia if you supposed soldiers of free thought and expression lay down your arms and plead 'don't shoot me?'"

I do NOT want to bring my grandbaby into a bathroom where a man dressed like a woman is using the pot. A person cannot, will never, no not ever be able to change his or her DNA to reflect a different gender than the one God gave him or her. I don't care how much a person whines or cries, God decided his gender and that settles it. God declared homosexualism is an abomination, and that settles it.

Christians, if we don't take a stand against the immorality permeating our country, if we don’t swallow the fear of being booed and hissed, if we are not “willing to experience a little discomfort” then we'll be blown by each passing wind and tossed by each wave.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. James 1:5-6
