Relationships of The Heart w/ Nancy

The Tough Places In Life
Date Posted: December 26, 2010

Have you ever opened your eyes one morning and as you began your day, you realized something was missing? Recently this happened to me. I began to feel an unsettling in my spirit as I went through my day. I usually begin to realize that this is a problem between God and I when I begin to work on a writing assignment. The words refuse to flow and as I continue to write I find that I cannot continue. As I review my writing I am usually never pleased when I am struggling in this area.

It is in this struggle that I finally begin to pray. Within a short time the usual reminder from the Holy Spirit comes my way. I have made a slow drift away from my relationship with Christ. Not that I am doing anything bad or evil, only that I am ignoring the person I am in relationship with, without realizing it.I am operating in my strength, which fades fast.

It is in the place of prayer and in the word I remember that, “He is still God and I am not.” I no longer try to understand the why God is doing what he is doing in my life. There is so much change that has taken place in my heart and life since I traveled to two countries to serve. There are days I am not sure who I am, other than I am a child of God and who I am in Christ.

As I write this I am listening to the music that I’ve included in this writing. Yes, I am living in the tough places of life. I do not know what God has down the road for me. Yet I know just as the words of this song say, that if I allow God to do what he wants to do in my life, he will be faithful. He will fill me with his grace and yes, HE IS STILL God!

For the moment, I am once again resting in him and trusting him with the outcome of his present dealings with me. I am a bit overwhelmed with the writing, the translation and the unknown travels up ahead. So, as this song says, I am trying to live by the words Kathy Troccoli is singing; “Do what you want to do. I give my all to you. What ever you ask of me, fill me with your grace.”

My words as I close for the evening are, “Jesus I need you and yes I love you.” As you listen to this song, maybe these are words for you too?

(The song I mention can be found on www.youtube.com singer Kathy Troccoli, Title; Your Still God)
