Relationships of The Heart w/ Nancy

When The Past, Merges With The Present
Date Posted: October 10, 2011

Not long ago as I sat at my desk a dear friend named Monica came to my mind. I recall sitting by her bed in her hospital room years ago. We were only friends for a very short time, but she impacted my life in a way that no one else has done since. She died from cancer, but in the midst of her pain, what I remember most about her was her concern for me and other women. I recall during one of the times that I visited her in the hospital and everyone else left the room. When they left she spoke to me about the importance of teaching women and what was lacking. I was going through some things myself at the time and I remember her words, to me, "Nancy, you can do this and you are needed and many women need your help."

As my mind wandered back to today, I recalled that it was not that long ago that I set out to start an equipping and training center for women in the U.S.A. The name for the center was to be, "The Monica Center." The most difficult part was that as soon as I began to take steps in the direction to start the center people, especially women did all they could do to stop me. Finally in weariness in the battle, I tucked this idea away. Recently as I was going through my files I came across the design for the Monica Center once again.

It amazed me that, as the design for the center sat in my files, I went on with life. In fact while the plans for the center were tucked away in my files, I took two trips to other countries. I traveled and taught in other countries what I planned to teach in the U.S.A. As I reflect on this difficult path of mine I now realize that when God orchestrates a plan and we are willing to follow him the plan still comes to life. He just takes us around those who oppose us and on his path we go! Even when we do not realize this is going on!

My thoughts as I finish this entry is; the Monica Center will one day exist, but it won't be in the location where I spent many years of my life. Instead, it will more than likely exist in another country. The past is merging with the present and it is time to let go and move into the future. Will you join me?

Words of Comfort

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 5:10-11.
