Greedy for Gain (Proverbs 1:19)

So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain; It takes away the life of its owners (Proverbs 1:19).

Is money something you think of and worry about regularly?

Your journal is a great place to interract with the truth found in Proverbs 1:19.

Use your journal to explore the following:

Write about your relationship with money. Does your money control you, or do you control your money?
Do you think that more money will make you happy?
How do you feel about giving? Are you committed to it, or do you do it only on occasion?
How do you reconcile the wisdom of saving for the future with the need to trust in God’s provision? (Both are biblical!)
Have you ever fallen for any get-rich-quick schemes? If so, what was the outcome?
Do you dream of winning the lottery? If so, how do you imagine spending the money? Do your fantasies reveal attitudes that are godly or ungodly?
How can being greedy for gain take away someone’s life?
Are there any attitudes or actions regarding money that you need to bring before the Lord? Use your journal to write your prayers to the Lord about this.
