No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:37 NIV
I've been giving the devil too much credit lately.
I've faced a number of challenges recently... mostly health related - but those have also led to financial challenges too.
With each new blow, I've focused on what the enemy has been trying to do to me.
I am giving him too much credit.
I have forgotten who I am.
I made a decision this past weekend - the enemy had stolen too much from me and I finally said "enough!"
There are so many promises God has given us in His Word and I decided it was finally time I claimed them as my own.
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:9-13 NIV
These promises are available to everyone who calls on the name of the Lord.
I am a child of God. (Romans 8:16)
I am redeemed from the hand of the enemy. (Psalm 107:2)
I am forgiven. (Colossians 1:13,14)
I am justified. (Romans 5:1)
I am sanctified. (1 Corinthians 6:11)
I am led by the Spirit of God. (Romans 8:14)
I am an heir of God and a joint heir with Jesus. (Romans 8:17)
I am an heir of eternal life. (1 John 5:11,12)
No more focusing on fear because God has not given me a spirit of fear. Instead He has given me one of power, love, and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)
No more focusing on weakness because the Word says, "The Lord is the strength of My life." (Psalm 27:1)
No more focusing on satan's power in my life because God's Word says, "Greater is He that is within me that he that is in the world." (1 John 4:4)
No more focusing on sickness because the Word says, "With His stripes I am healed." (Isaiah 53:5)
No more focusing on my troubles because Jesus said, "In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. Luke 10:19 NIV
God has given us authority and it's time we take that authority.
No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
And their righteousness is from Me,"
Says the LORD.
Isaiah 54:17 NKJV (emphasis mine)
"Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him." Mark 11:22-23 NIV
I have faith. I believe. I am standing on the promises that God has given me and every believer.
I have made a decision to become a "Woman of the Word" and not just a complacent Christian.
In Jeremiah 1:12 in the Amplified Version it says: "I am alert and active watching over My Word to perform it!"
If you are struggling with doubt, fear, sin, pain, torment, trials... I encourage you to grab hold of these scriptures.
Trust God.
Take Him at His Word.
He means it!
