Right Here, Right Now
Date Posted: October 26, 2005

For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"
Esther 4:14 NKJV

When things aren't going the way you hoped, have you ever wondered why you are where you are, why do you have the job you have, why you're in the relationship you're in or why you are in whatever situation you might currently find yourself in? And in the midst of that you ask, "Why God? Why have you brought me here? What good can come from this situation?"

I know whenever things aren't going my way – I ask these questions. In fact, I cry out to God… pleading for answers.

Tonight… it hit me. Right here! Right now! God is in control and this is exactly where He wants me to be. If you are trusting God with your life… the same is true of you. No matter what situation you are in – God has allowed it. It might not make sense to you today – it might not make sense tomorrow – but God has put you right where you are "for such a time as this."

If you are in a situation you don't like, my advice is this… trust God…believe Him. He has you exactly where He wants you. Open your heart to His plan. Pray for Him to use you and whatever the situation you're in "to the praise of His glory."

In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
Ephesians 1:11-12 NKJV

You can be assured that in every situation… no matter how big or small… God will use it for good.

Joseph is a perfect example of this.

But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
Genesis 50:20 NKJV

Joseph knew his brothers meant evil against him when they cast him into the pit and ultimately sold him into slavery. Joseph was his father's "favorite." His father had made him a tunic of many colors and wore it proudly and boldly in the face of his brothers. He also touted the dreams he'd had of "reigning" over his brothers. They were jealous of him. They resented him. Yet, I'm sure when Joseph found himself in that pit he questioned why God would allow such bad things to happen to him. I'm sure he questioned God again after being betrayed by Potipher's wife and winding up once again in prison.

I'm sure it must have been very difficult for Joseph to trust God, to believe God… when things weren't going his way. And yet Joseph did trust God and believed God. Joseph remained faithful and obedient regardless of his situation or circumstance. He knew that "right here, right now" was exactly where God wanted him to be.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
Romans 8:28-30 NKJV

Some days it's hard to trust and believe. But we can rest in God's promise – "that all things work together for good to those who love God." God hasn't brought you where you are and just left you there. He's at work and it's all for good. It might not feel good, but it will be for good.

God is alive. He is still on the throne. We can believe Him and we can trust Him.

He has called us to be right here, right now… "for such a time as this"… and He will use every situation "to the praise of His glory" and He promises that in every situation "that all things work together for good to those who love God."

If you love God… rest in these promises! Know God has you exactly where He wants you! He hasn't brought you to this place and left you there. God loves you too much to leave you where you are. And good can and will come from it… if you are willing to trust Him, believe Him and allow Him to work through you.
