Surrendered to Love

My Composition to the King

I have discovered the joy of heart thoughts coming quietly in the midst of busyness with the unmistakable knowledge that they are gifts from the heart of God to mine
What I do with them and how I put them into action determines my level of obedience to the Word. I come to know whether I am a doer of the Word or a hearer only and it is through obedience that I like you become skilled at obedient surrender. We carry the treasure of the Glory of God in our earthly vessels and as people, we are vessels that are weak and broken and yet with unmitigated strength as we abide in the shelter the high and holy God can offer to us underneath the shadow of His wings. As we abide there in His presence, we will be able to rest under the weight of His glory. It is as we are in the presence of holiness that we become so.

The truths of who we are reveal themselves to us as we hear the voice of God tenderly speaking to our hearts. If we could live our lives, every moment of every day in the consciousness of His holy purity our thoughts would more readily be God focused and centered and ultimately His Word would renew and cleanse our minds. Like a magnet to metal and a moth to the flame, the love of God would draw our hearts to the core of the Father’s heart. When we are wholly consecrated, wholly set apart for the glory of God holy purity shines through our lives.

When we release our hold of our own desires, we can then carry the weight, worthiness and glory of God Almighty. To be reflective is to meditate, and a reflective life is a translucent life in which the purity and clarity of God is clearly seen. As we reflect on Him and His Word and enjoy the company of His presence; the light of Him that shines brighter than the noonday sun that bursts forth from the depths of His being; unbeknownst to us, the light of His glory will shine through us.

To love Him is to practice obeying the admonitions of God, to meditate upon His Word day and night, and to hunger and thirst for the truths found in His Word more than our necessary food and water; panting after Him even as a deer pants for water.

Will I die that He may live? Will I die to my will, my way, my wantonness? Will I let the light of His glory bring light to my understanding that I might know how to put on the newness of truth in my mind, how to walk and live and talk like God in true righteousness and holiness? The breastplate of righteousness guards the glory of God within me as it breaks the power of sin’s dominion over me by my consistent good and right choices enabling me to walk in the love and peace of God.

My parents were members of an exclusive club and as their child; I had access to the club and all of its amenities. We could participate in swimming, skating, tennis, curling and a variety of other activities each with different levels according to the skill of the participant.

In the Heavenly Father’s realm, I am His child with full access to His courts, full access to the gifts He wants to pour into my life. The only condition is that we receive by faith in the Word of God that He will do what He said He would do. We can come boldly before the throne of God because of our new life in Christ, we are to enter the courts of God with thanksgiving, and the high praises of God in our mouths.

God reveals His heart for us through His Word and the more we come to know what the Word says and understand what the Word means, the more we will come to know the heart of the Father. We progress in our relationship with Him and when we learn that we are seated with Him in heavenly places we also learn to sit in His Presence.

We need to learn what He requires of us in order to walk in the high places and not stumble and fall in times of adversity and difficult circumstances. We must learn to walk in the newness of our life in Christ.

Just like at the Club, our walk with God is on different levels according to the time we put in. In addition, as He wills He gives gifts. Just as we progress in our physical abilities, the progression becomes evident in our spiritual walk. We become skilled using our spiritual gifts because we look for ways to bless others with the gifts God has placed in us. As we grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord, strengthening our faith through perseverance and endurance, the godly qualities on the inside of us become alive and we begin to shine with the radiance of the glory of God because we have been learning to surrender to love.
