The Focus

I believe that most everyone who knows me is aware that my favorite author is none other than...Max Lucado!
Let me share with you how Max describes the event of the Cross in his book The Gift for All People...
"Christ Jesus came to earth for one reason - - to give His life as a ransom for you, for me, for all of us. He sacrificed Himself to give us a second chance. He would have gone to any lengths to do so. And He did! He went to the cross, where man's utter despair collided with God's unbending grace. And in that moment when God's great gift was complete, the compassionate Christ showed the world the cost of His gift."
As you and I grow in our relationship with Jesus, we begin to understand the amazing truth that He died specifically for YOU and for ME! Though His sacrifice freed the world from the penalty of sin, Jesus was intimately familiar with you as an individual as He accepted and fulfilled His sentence of death upon the cross.
The Bible tells us that God knew you before you were formed in your momma's womb (Psalm 139:13) and He even knows how many hairs are on your head (Matthew 10:30). If He knows us that intimately, then it also means that when He sent His Son to die on the cross over 2,000 years ago - - then God knew YOU and included the sins you would commit today, tomorrow, in 2006,2007, and on into the future. It's amazing - - those sins would be totally forgiven!!
Wow!! Incredible!! Awesome!! What a beautiful gift!! What a reason to rejoice and celebrate!!
As you prepare your heart, attitude and spirit for worshipping Christ this Easter season...take time to thank Him for His amazing love that is demonstrated for us all each and every day!
