Have you ever tried to have a daily quiet time and just can't seem to be successful at it?
Do you have a difficult time concentrating?
Can't seem to stay focused?
It's a fact...all of us are busy and distracted!
So rather than spend time with God and listening for His voice, we'll let others spend time with Him and then benefit from their experience. We'll let them tell us what God is saying. After all, isn't that we pay preachers for?!
If that is your approach...if your spiritual experiences are second-hand and not first-hand...then I would like to challenge you with this thought: Do you do that with other parts of your life??
Do you let someone else take your vacation for you and then tell you how great it was?
Do you let someone else eat your meals for you and then tell you how delicious it was?
I don't!!!
There are certain things that no one can do for you...and one of those is spending time alone with God.
Carve out some time for Him this week.
Come near to Him...draw close to Him...and bask in His loving presence!
As song by the Katina's says..."Draw me close to You...never let me go."
He serves as the Senior Pastor with southwest Virginia church... a loving church family in Abingdon.
He and his wife Sharon have been married for over 27 years and are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters, one son-in-law, and two precious grandchildren, the second arrived arrived on the scene in September 2004!!
