The Focus

Have you ever experienced feelings of anxiety? Fear? A sudden change that leaves you feeling uncertain about the future?
Whew!! I sure have!!
BUT...there is never a time when God is unsure! He is in control even when our lives become fractured by the pressures of the world.
The Bible clearly tells us what we are to do when worries and concerns arise and begin to overwhelm us..."Do not be worried about your life..." (Matthew 6:25). "Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)
I've experienced that anxiety comes when I feel as though my circumstances are beyond my control.
BUT...nothing is beyond God's control!
When you sense anxiety creeping into your life - - do you wonder what happened to your peace and joy? Well - Jesus Christ is is your source of true peace.
Psalms 46:10 tells us to "Cease striving and know that I am God..." Just be still within your heart and allow Him to do for you what you cannot do for yourself - - calm your fears. God cares for you. His love is unconditional, and His Word promises that He will meet all your needs.
Maybe we should re-title that old hymn "Standing on the Promises" and change it to "Relaxing In His Promises"!!
May you be confident and rest in His promises this week!
