"Let's Roll!"
Date Posted: January 14, 2004

In the days that followed September 11, 2001, the world was introduced to an American hero...Todd Beamer. Todd was one of those on the United Airlines plane that crashed in rural Pennsylvania, a plane that was likely headed toward another target in Washington, D.C. Todd and others on the plane with him are credited with leading an attack against the terrorists who had killed and commandeered the cockpit. Realizing he was about to die, Todd used the onflight phone to call home. Unable to reach his wife, he prayed the Lord's Prayer with the Air Fone operator as a testimony to his faith. Then he said good-bye and turned and uttered the phrase that has now been heard all over the world..."Let's roll!"

Knowing Christ and living for Him and His kingdom was Todd's highest priority. As a result, knowing that death was imminent did not deter him from one final act of courageous Christian service.

Here at Central Christian Church in Jonesborough, Tennessee we are challenging and encouraging every member to 'Reach for More in 2004'. To get serious about their Christianity...to deepen their love for Christ...to strengthen their faith...and to get involved in faithful service...to reach out to others with His love.

How about you? Isn't it time to live for Christ and His kingdom and allow His sacrificial love to motivate us to greatness?

As His church - the body of Christ ... the call is loud and clear and it's being heard around the world... "LET'S ROLL!"
