In the next three months I am privileged to be participating in several marriage ceremonies...and I must admit I look forward to being a part of each celebration.

What do you like most about going to a wedding? Honestly, I have to admit, one of the things I enjoy about a wedding is the reception and getting a big ol' slice of the wedding cake!! Ummmm! For most of us, though, it is the atmosphere of joy and beauty that surrounds the occasion. It is an event that is far from ordinary. The music is carefully chosen and well rehearsed. Family members will travel great distances to attend a marriage celebration. Vows of committed love are shared. Tokens of affection are exchanged. People arrived for the wedding dressed in their best and carrying carefully selected (and oftemtimes expensive) gifts. And at many wedding receptions you are served more than just cake and salty peanuts...you may even get to enjoy a sit down dinner and...dancing!

I enjoy dancing...but in my line of work about the only time I dance is at a wedding reception. So...I take advantage of it and enjoy the pleasure of slow dancing with my wife or trying my hand (or should I say 'feet') at line-dancing. It's great!

Is it any wonder then that the Bible pictures heaven as the union of Christ and His bride. It's a place of love, joy, music, laughter, and togetherness. Scripture calls attention to the marriage supper of the Lamb (Revelation 19:9). The atmosphere will be thick with the presence of God Himself.

And, you know what? I believe we will dance in His presence!! Not just on a carpeted ballroom floor...but on streets that golden!!

"We will dance on the streets that are golden.
The glorious bride and the great Son of Man.
From every tongue and tribe and nation,
We'll join in the song of the Lamb."

I'll hope you'll accept the invitation to be a part of THE wedding celebration!
