The gift of Hope!
Date Posted: March 30, 2005

This morning a terrible thing happened to me! I looked in the bathroom mirror!! As I looked into the mirror - - reality slapped me in the face...I'm totally gray headed!! I'm getting older...in fact, I'll turn 50 in just a few weeks...and there's nothing I can do to stop this aging process. (My wife, Sharon, won't let me color my hair...I've always wanted to be blonde!!).

It's hard to see things grow old...like the little town you were raised up in, or your parents, or even your friends. Aren't there times you wish you could turn the clock back? I know there are certainly moments when I yearn to somehow make it all 'new' again...but I can't.

BUT GOD CAN!!

Recall what the shepherd wrote..."He restores my soul."

God doesn't reform...He restores.
God doesn't camoflage the old...He makes it new again.
The Master Builder will pull out the original plan and restore it!

Cassie Bernall was a student who was murdered during the Columbine High School rampage a few years back. Her brother, Chris, wrote this poem following her funeral...

"Now I have given up on everything else -
I have found it to be the only way to really know Christ
and to experience the mighty power that brought Him back to life again,
and to find out what it means to suffer and die with Him.
So, whatever it takes I will be one who lives in the fresh newness
of life of those who are alive from the dead."

Ahhhhhhhhhh....the sweet, refreshing, fragrant scent of hope.

Indeed...this is the message of Easter!!

He brings hope!
He is capable of making all things new!

This Easter...allow His Holy Spirit to remind you of His incredible hope and then be sure to share the message of HOPE with an unashamed boldness!!

This Easter...be restored!
