Mangled Mind-Psalms 91:15
Date Posted: September 13, 2020

'He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. ' Psalm 91:15 KJV

My mind looks like this when I'm trying to write but getting nothing.

Chaos is the word.

Or maybe confusion.

I'm stretching and striving to put something together, and it isn't working.

That's how my spirit looks when I'm concerned about my future or my present. When I compare myself to others or lean toward self-righteousness, I get mangle up on the inside.

I was feeling mangle on the inside as I tried to write.

Nothing that made sense came to me.

I'm on a mission, and I can't think straight.

Of course, I called on God.

But God is a strange fellow to me at times. Like Jesus, He doesn't seem to give direct answers. He appears to ignore the questions and diverts the conversation while I sit and wait in my chaos like a sad boy who dropped his ice cream cone in the dirt. The 5-second rule doesn't apply in this case.

Last night and this early morning, I was on the edge of depression.

I had some deep concerns about my life, and I was wallowing in it like a pig in mud. I put my shield down and read the propaganda like a good bathroom book.

So it was this morning; the dread of the reading still lingering in my thoughts kept me in check.

I added an extra scoop of grounds to my pot of Java, trying to cheat away my dreaded feelings. But God does not have it that way. He's got something to say to burn the truth into my soul.

Psalm 139 comes to me.

'Even the darkness is not dark to You and conceals nothing from You, But the night shines as bright as the day; Darkness and light are alike to You. ' Psalm 139:12 AMP

Where God resides, darkness does not exist.

I prayed a bit in tongues and let Him speak to my spirit. The darkness began to fade, and revelation rose as the sun rises with it's greeting of a new day.

Jesus pulled back a layer covering from Psalm 91:15 so I could see it with a little more light.

'He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. ' Psalm 91:15 KJV

I promise, when we commit ourselves to Jesus amid chaos, He will fulfill this incredible promise in our lives.

Call on the Lord, and He will answer.
