Psalms 91:6
Date Posted: February 11, 2024

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

Psalm 91:6 KJV

Strong's Definition of pestilence.

From H1696 (in the sense of destroying); a pestilence

Root word def:

V) rbd (דבר DBR) - Speak: A careful arrangement of words or commands. KJV

After studying and meditating on this verse, here is a little of what I see and hear.

The enemy is allowed to put us in circumstances that expose our deepest fears. Exposing fears is a part of our life's process to forge in us an unshakable faith in the Lord.

The devil puts us in a place of concern about our health, finances, or relationships. He then starts to speak doom and gloom into our minds. He tries to get us to repeat and agree that God will not provide and meet every need we have. The level of worry we carry shows the depth of healing we need in this area of life.

For most of my life, I had financial problems. The Lord allowed near losses of our vehicles to show me I was always trying to manipulate my way into wealth and prosperity. In the process, He revealed me this area of fear I harbored deep in my heart. I was holding on to a thought that the Lord could not fully meet my financial needs. It was a painful process but an essential step for my growth and increased intimacy with the Lord.

I had to learn to relinquish control of my financial life and trade it for a life of trust and faith in Him.

Jesus used the enemy to reveal my fears. After my deep-seated fears were exposed, the Lord healed the internal pain that kept me in terror. The results were near-instantaneous. Since then, I've had peace in my soul more than ever before.

Now, when the enemy speaks to me with his careful arrangement of words about financial lack, I can laugh in his face and be confident in the Lord and trust He has me wholly protected and provided for me.

What is it in your life the enemy uses to speak pestilence and destruction? What does he say to you that brings instant fear?

What keeps you up at night when lying in bed or worries you during the day?

What carefully crafted words of fear do you hear consistently in your daily life?

Make this day the day of your salvation from the torment of fear. Take all your worries and concerns to the Lord. Tell the Lord your weaknesses, and He will step in, and He will be a strong tower in your life. Remember, the Lord loves you with an everlasting love and will protect you from all evil.

I will continue to learn to take all my worries and fears to the Lord and receive His peace.

Are you willing to make the same choice?

Andy
