Voice of Inspiration
by Andy Castro
Life is like fruit carving. Fruit carvers have a specific set of tools that they use to create their carvings.
So it is with this life. To carve out the life we want we must use certain tools. Our tools are our thoughts, words and action.
1) Thoughts-we must first think of what it is we want. It could be a nice car, a better marriage or a physical healing. Whatever it is you want, you must picture the final result of it in your mind. And it must be thought of as often as possible. God used the stars of the sky to show Abraham his future. Joseph was given a dream concerning his future. Our thoughts will precede our future.
2) Words-We must speak what we want. God tells us that our words are powerful. Therefore we must speak our desire as often as possible as if it were already evident. Gideon in the bible was told by an angel of the Lord, “go in the might that you have.” This was at a time when Gideon was the lowliest of the low. God saw Gideon as he was created to be. We must follow this example. We must see and speak the end result of our desire.
3) Action-In the book of James it reads, “faith without works is dead.” We must participate in the creating of the desired result. For instance, if you want a better relationship with someone, what could you do to foster that relationship? It may be that you need to learn to listen more or you may need to carve out more time for that person. Find out what you can do to move toward your desire and start moving in that direction. Faith is working toward your desire believing you will achieve it.
Use these three tools to help you carve out the life that you want. Remember that it will be very uncomfortable at times while moving toward your desire. Just as there is cutting away of some of the rind of the fruit, so it will be with you. You will be challenged to cut away your present way of thinking and habits to reach your desired goals.
With God all things are possible.
