"If this be treason, make the most of it."

Treason: Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies.

It was His willful act and purposeful violation to wage war against the sovereign religious force on the earth. The religious powers had to be taken down for the freedom for those freedoms were chained to the grave by the mindset and ideology of the religious elite. It was given them the laws of God in times past but through coaxing from the master of the earth and our own selfish need to control, the law was twisted into braided chains to hold the guilty and lowly in the dungeons of everlasting doom.

Treason in full force was the only solution.

Thus, Christ was born.

Christ set the example for us to counter the enemy of our soul, the worlds ways and the desires of our flesh. Paul said we are to renew our minds, work out our salvation and we have the mind of Christ. Everything we think and do after making a commitment to Christ, reveals to us if we are aligning ourselves with Christ or staying stuck in the old ways of life. To fully engaged in renewing our minds is treason to the old nature and old worldly way of life. It is treason to the systematic way the enemy forms our thinking. We must completely make a stand against the old, negative thought process and start learning about the mind of Christ. 1Peter states; "God makes us who we ought to be." And who we ought to be is not the way we used to be and it takes the renewing of our thought process.

In 2000, my family and I move to Georgia from Arizona. We knew it was God's plan to move us but I thought it was to move us from our old family and friends. In one way it was but in reality if was to move us away from an old mindset and ideology that had been transferred to us through family, friends and culture. It was the beginning of God making us who we ought to be. We had to be removed from the old way of life so he could reveal to us the mind of Christ.

So how does God do this?

One way is through personal development. On a very basic level in life we should all engage in some process of personal change. Perhaps it could be with a general bad attitude about life. It could be a habit that needs to change such as cussing. With all the different things we could change in our life some could change through changing patterns we picked up in life. Or practicing principles we find in personal development books or the bible.

In deeper ways we made need to seek help from a counselor. You may need help to get over a hurdle from a childhood pain in which a professional can guide you through it.

Yet another way may be simply spending time alone with the Lord. It has proven to be a time of personal growth and healing for me on several occasions through out my life.

I highly suggest to practice treason against the old way of life and thinking or it will lead to an unfulfilled life of mediocrity. In addition, practicing treason, will help lead you to completing the call on your life. Moreover, you will mature emotionally and spiritually which could lead to a more engaging relationship with the Lord. Practicing spiritual treason will lead you to a life of deep internal liberty as you've never known.

What course in life will you take?

I end this with the words of Patrick Henry. "Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, Give me Liberty, or give me Death!"
