Weekly Wisdom Winnows

Are you committed to the cause? You say, "Lisa, what are you talking about?" Okay, let me rephrase the question. What causes are you committed too? All of us are committed to something. Some of us are committed to not being committed! Some of us work really hard to avoid the responsibility of commitment to the Lord.
Now I am not talking about salvation here. I am talking about the level of commitment you have to doing the will of the Lord for your life. We have people ridicule us all the time because we are in church every time the doors are opened. We are committed! We are committed to learning the Word, fellowshipping with the saints, praising the Lord, laying our lives (our wants and desires) down for the will of God.
We have people that get on our case because we don't allow certain things or certain types of people into our home. We are committed! Committed to maintaining a holy lifestyle, a life of peace-strife free. Committed to keeping a right atmosphere in our home environment.
We get persecuted because we don't do certain things or go certain places. We are committed! Committed to living a life above reproach. Committed to being a living example that you can live a holy lifestyle. Committed to NOT being a fence-straddler, a luke-warm Christian.
I have discovered that not all Christians are committed to the right causes. What is commitment anyway? It is a decision to do a certain thing a certain way irregardless of the consequences or the circumstances. Did you hear what I said? It is a decision-a choice. And you will make thousands of them everyday. You have choices put before you everyday and the Word says, "Choose life." Choose life so that you may prosper and live long on the earth.
We all have the power of choice. What do you choose to be committed to today? What cause burns deep and passionate in your heart? Is it the right cause? It only takes a decision to change it! Be committed to the right causes!

'To separate the chaff from (grain) by means of a current of air. To rid of undesirable parts. To separate or get rid of (an undesirable part); eliminate: winnowing out the errors in logic. ...separate grain from chaff...separate the good from the bad...examine closely in order to separate the good from the bad; sift...' God had placed a longing in my heart to teach the body of Christ how to separate from carnal thinking and rid themselves of old ways that hinder their Spiritual growth. I desire to see them live victoriously, by the 'higher ways' of God's wisdom.'
