Weekly Wisdom Winnows

So in today’s world, how do you distinguish if a person truly loves you or just knows how to say the words? Is it by their actions? By the sincerity of their speech? When someone tells you whether it be a spouse, a friend, a mother or father, or even a brother or sister, “I love you”, How do you know its true? We throw the word, 'love', around so loosely these days that it truly has no real meaning anymore. If I were to ask most people, “What does it mean for God to love you? or say to them, "Tell me in your own words HOW MUCH God really loves you" most would give a standard answer like “He sent His son to die for me”. Of course, that's true, but to most people those words are JUST WORDS. A step further, if asked, 'Has God ever shown you, personally, how much He loves you?' or 'Have you ever heard God tell you “I love you”?', most would have to honestly say 'no'. God wants so much for YOU to get a revelation-a personal knowledge and an understanding-of how much He loves YOU!
How bad do you want it to be true? You cannot accurately judge a persons actions or speech if you have tunnel vision where they are concerned. Sometimes we want something to be true so bad we totally over look the facts. So what are the facts of God's love? First of all, He really did send His son to die a horrible, humiliating, death for each one of us. God knew you before the foundation of the world. He knew you when you were yet in your mothers womb. He knew how bad you were going to be, He knew how badly you were going to hurt others -yet he still loved YOU enough to let His only son pay an sadistic, ungodly cost for your soul.
“Do you really want to know how much God loves you? If you do, get before God and sincerely ask Him to show you a reality of His love-to show His love to you in a way that you will understand. You pray, not some one else, but you. Be bold enough to ask Him to prove His love to you in a way that you have no doubts that it is God showing it to you. HE WANTS YOU TO KNOW! Believe it! Now you ask, How will he do that? The answer is found in His Word to you; He does not withhold anything good from those that love Him. I don’t know how he’ll show you. He deals with each person differently. However, I do know if you are sincerely desiring to know His love, HE WILL SHOW YOU.
I will close with this story. A lady pastored a church along side her husband. They had 4 growing boys. This lady had always fixed a favorite cranberry salad every Christmas but that year they did not have the money for the ingredients. One Sunday morning after service she went to get in her car and there sat all of the ingredients for the salad, except for the nuts. She still was very grateful and was in tears because her family would have this salad, even without the nuts. She didn’t say anything to anyone and went on to church that evening. When she came out of church that evening in her car sat the jar a nuts with a note saying God had not left them alone till they got the nuts! She said the spirit of God filled her car and she wept and wept. She told God she didn’t know what to say. The Lord spoke to her and said, "I love you so much, I even care about the small things like you having nuts for your salad!" Now think about that. How BIG God is and how small nuts are in a a jar. If He loved her that much, how much does he love you? And what is he willing to do to show you?
JUST ASK HIM! Pray, "Father, show me how much you love me. From my heart I ask you. I want to know how much you love me. Do what ever it takes to make your love REAL TO ME PERSONALLY. AMEN" Now, sit back and wait for Him to reveal HIS LOVE TO YOU! Love Always Lisa
