PASSION? WHAT PASSION?
Date Posted: August 31, 2008

Has something or someone tried to rob you of your passion in life? Your passion FOR life? What about your passion to do something in life? I believe that God has placed inside each of us a supernatural desire (passion) and a plan to do something with our life. That does not necessarily mean that you are supposed to be a prophet, teacher, preacher or something like that. What do you enjoy in life? I am not just talking about strictly naturally speaking. Or talking about what your flesh likes to do, like eat! I mean what is you heart's desire? What do you have a deep zeal and desire to accomplish in life before you die? I know that we will not have the whole plan of God for our life step by step, from beginning to end. BUT we do have a starting point. To me that is, "what is your passion?" "You're calling?" Can these change as life goes on? Yes, I believe as we grow closer to the Lord He sorts through the fleshly and the Godly and help us to sort too. As we grow closer to God some desires will fall away as others grow stronger.

My pastor once told me, start praying over the desires that you feel. If they are of God as you pray in the spirit and in English they will either grow stronger or weaker. Now you have to understand, this only works if you are sincere before God and do not have your own agenda and just want God to approve your plan. You have to sincerely be seeking God's plan for your life. Don't you know He wants you to know your passion, your desires are from Him and that He wants you to fulfill them?

What am I saying? Okay for instance, my passion in life is #1 to learn all I can about the God kind of Love and #2 to learn to walk in it with everything in me. Now I know that I can't accomplish this without the Lord. But it is a burning passion of mine. How do I know that came from God? Because #1 it is a Godly desire, but I have also prayed a lot along these lines and I am thoroughly convinced that this is part of the plan and passion He has for my life. Is that all of it? No, I do not believe so. But I also believe if He showed us everything at one time about our life beginning to end we would more than likely run the other way just as fast and hard as we could go. But God loves us and even though He wants His best for us, He does not intend to overwhelm us or make us feel like inferior jerks that will never be able to accomplish anything for Him. So it is one step at a time. One growing passion added to another and another till one day we look back and can say WOW! LOOK AT WHAT GOD HAS DONE IN MY LIFE!

What is in your heart to do for God? It is never too late to start towards that plan. Please look at your self and your life. Are you enjoying your life? Are you fulfilled with what you are doing? If you are not, Please know that you can continue to do what you are doing now and start working toward your desire and passion. When you start going that direction God will work with you and you will feel the zeal of life returning to thrust you forward toward your destiny. It may be to be a day care provider, a Godly mechanic, a great house wife, a praying mother, a wonderful anointed artist, an awesome cook that shares her goodies to be a blessing. Who knows what your passion and desire and zeal is but you? DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF TO SOMEONE ELSE! God made you unique to be you. When you compare yourself to someone else you are not being fair to yourself or that person. They are doing their passion, that doesn't mean it has to be yours! Do not let people make you feel guilty because you don't share their zeal or passion either. If your heart is right before God and you are earnestly seeking his passion and plan for your life then you be content with you and where you are and be happy for others where they are.

Be blessed, do not be stressed and look to your future and not your past. And know this.....God is waiting for you to discover your passion and working with you to bring it to pass. You know He is the one that gave you the desire to desire. If you are not sure what your passion is. BE HONEST! With God and with yourself. Then go about your business of seeking God and finding out and start on your passion path today. Be happy in all that you do. You are only here for a short span of time. Enjoy being what God has called YOU to be! Love in Christ LISA

Biography Information:
Lisa Mendenhall lives in Smackover, Arkansas with her husband of over 28 years, Chris. She has 4 grown children who also love the Lord, each serving Him in some capacity. As a teacher of the Word, Lisa, believes that she has a responsibility to use her God-given gift to teach those who have a desire to live victorious in Christ how to do so. She believes in order to live victoriously, one must get to know God and His character. His character is love. Therefore, Lisa has a heart-desire to bring people to a greater understanding of God's love. Her teachings explain that when His love is activated IN His children, it will motivate them to give just as His love motivated Him to give 'His only begotten Son', Jesus, to the world. God's wisdom does not always flow with the world's system of wisdom and His Word says, 'my people perish for lack of knowledge'. Lisa states, 'During meditation one day, I heard the word 'winnows'. With great curiosity, I learned it to mean,

'To separate the chaff from (grain) by means of a current of air. To rid of undesirable parts. To separate or get rid of (an undesirable part); eliminate: winnowing out the errors in logic. ...separate grain from chaff...separate the good from the bad...examine closely in order to separate the good from the bad; sift...' (www.dictionary.com) 'This study gave me direction and focus for my teaching.  God had placed a longing in my heart to teach the body of Christ how to separate from carnal thinking and rid themselves of old ways that hinder their Spiritual growth. I desire to see them live victoriously, by the 'higher ways' of God's wisdom.'
