PRETENDERS
Date Posted: December 20, 2009

Don't tell someone you care about them and then let contrary actions speak louder than your words....Don't deceive your own self by not recognizing ulterior motives for everything you do. People can see your shallowness whether you choose to believe it or not...They can see how fake your sympathy, compassion and pretend caring is...you cannot hide it....so next time you want people to believe that you really care....you might want to check your heart to see if you really do care! If not, ask yourself, "Why?" Then, get honest with yourself; quit pretending at work, church, and/or home that you are part of a "family" if your actions don't show it because members of a REAL family REALLY CARE about one another!

People are looking for something that is REAL in people. The world is full of 'Pretend Christians' who are only out for what is best for them. They deceive with false sympathy, only to go behind their back hacking them to pieces with their tongues. Not only does God hear all you say and see all you do, He sees the intent of your heart. He knows your motives and that is on what you will be judged- your motives and your actions.

I have seen so many 'pretenders' this Christmas Season. They walk around with smiles on their faces and recite the cheerful greeting of "Merry Christmas!" while their hearts are stone cold to the needs of the very people to whom their mouths have wished happiness. The law of "Sowing and Reaping" still exist! The time will come when these same people will need mercy, but have sown seeds of apathy! They will want to blame God, their spouses, their jobs, coworkers, bosses, children, circumstances- everyone and everything but themselves! If you have sown mercy, you will reap it when you need it. I promise you the day will come when you will need it. If you have sown kindness, you will reap it when you need it, if not you will reap your harvest of ugliness, harshness, cold-heartedness, etc...

I know this message seems a little harsh for the Christmas Season, but my thoughts are this: If I knew you were going to crash and you didn't, I would be partly responsible if I didn't warn you. However, if I tell you and you choose not to stop your car then who's at fault? Besides, the fact remains that we are to love, honor, and esteem our brothers and sisters above ourselves. We should care enough for one another to be honest enough to at least warn them about the crashing and burning.....

LAST THOUGHT: Do you truly like yourself the way you are right now? Are you brave enough to examine yourself? Is your heart is cold and stony, harsh and uncaring, bitter and resentful, angry and mean? Or, is your heart a heart of love and compassion, goodness and mercy, kindness and caring, unselfishness and humility? Do you avoid any one who might cause conviction to come on your heart? Do you run the other way when you see those who could bring words to cause you to turn from your old ways and become who Jesus really made you to be?

NOW YOU THINK: Think about the fact that we don't have a whole lot of time on this earth....a judgment and reward day is coming...what will you have coming to you?

Biography Information:
Lisa Mendenhall lives in Smackover, Arkansas with her husband of over 28 years, Chris. She has 4 grown children who also love the Lord, each serving Him in some capacity. As a teacher of the Word, Lisa, believes that she has a responsibility to use her God-given gift to teach those who have a desire to live victorious in Christ how to do so. She believes in order to live victoriously, one must get to know God and His character. His character is love. Therefore, Lisa has a heart-desire to bring people to a greater understanding of God's love. Her teachings explain that when His love is activated IN His children, it will motivate them to give just as His love motivated Him to give 'His only begotten Son', Jesus, to the world. God's wisdom does not always flow with the world's system of wisdom and His Word says, 'my people perish for lack of knowledge'. Lisa states, 'During meditation one day, I heard the word 'winnows'. With great curiosity, I learned it to mean,

'To separate the chaff from (grain) by means of a current of air. To rid of undesirable parts. To separate or get rid of (an undesirable part); eliminate: winnowing out the errors in logic. ...separate grain from chaff...separate the good from the bad...examine closely in order to separate the good from the bad; sift...' (www.dictionary.com) 'This study gave me direction and focus for my teaching.  God had placed a longing in my heart to teach the body of Christ how to separate from carnal thinking and rid themselves of old ways that hinder their Spiritual growth. I desire to see them live victoriously, by the 'higher ways' of God's wisdom.'
