Word from Nairnshire

Anointing
Date Posted: July 21, 2009

It was a critical night forty years ago. For six weeks there had been an intense spiritual battle ongoing.

He asked a friend to pray one final time as he was about to resign from being a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

As his friend prayed Jesus Christ baptised him in the Holy Spirit. He describes the experience like having two cycle pumps placed on his big toes as he felt the power of God flow throughout his whole body.

The friend indicated that there were words in his mind which were not English and encouraged him to speak them out. This he did. He was speaking in tongues and praising and praying in a language he had never learned. Within a few moments it became a river, which over the years never dried up.

This was how the Church was birthed and launched in the Temple in Jerusalem.

Fifty days after Jesus Christ was raised from the dead, He poured out the Holy Spirit and anointed 120 disciples with several thousand worshippers present.

These disciples were all filled with the Holy Spirit and all spoke in tongues and praised, thanked, and worshipped the living God.

It happened to Saul of Tarsus three days after Jesus Christ met him, outside Damascus.

When God broke down the dividing wall between Jew and Gentile a similar consequence resulted as Peter spoke in the home of Roman army officer Cornelius.

The elders of the church in Ephesus received the same anointing with the same consequences, when Paul prayed.

With all the problems confronting our world, disciples of Jesus Christ so need the power of God, to go on serving faithfully, without compromise.

When you receive the mercy, grace, forgiveness and anointing of God, know that it lasts.
