Having looked at reading the Bible regularly, and prayer, with the goal of becoming spiritually stronger, the next area is worship, where we acknowledge God’s worth, and where we exalt Him, and regard Him as being worthy of praise and adoration.

Although we can do this on our own, it is important that we worship along with other disciples of Jesus Christ.

That has been the pattern since Jesus birthed the Church, and there has been no change.

The early disciples of Jesus were faithful in worship and would participate in the times of prayer.

Are you aware of any mature committed disciple of Jesus who is not alongside all the others when the local fellowship meets?

As well as meeting together, and corporately singing God’s praises, there have to be times too when we get on our own and withdraw from activity, temporarily.

Each needs to have these moments where we find a quiet or private place to rest and relax for spiritual purposes.

Jesus would rise early in the morning to go and commune with His heavenly Father, before the demands and work of the day invaded.

He was able to balance being alone and being with people.

We come to know God when we are still. Strength can be found, and even discovered, through quietness and trust.

It has been argued that many do not have time to do all this. Make time!

We make time to eat, sleep, watch television, and appear where we choose to appear.

To become spiritually stronger, certain decisions require to be made and certain vital appointments with God kept.

A brilliant musician was asked how such talented playing was possible. “By planned neglect” was the reply.

Various comparatively unimportant matters were neglected in order to develop the musical gift.
