Bullying
Date Posted: December 27, 2011

Many face a giant when they awake every morning.

It might be addiction, disease, debt, fear, envy, anger, or the painful memory of something that happened years ago.

Giants taunt and intimidate. They certainly do not make life easy.

Goliath was a giant who taunted the Israeli army. This is not a children’s story.

Choose a man to come and fight me was his daily taunt. This charade went on day after day, until King Saul was scared.

This was one method by which certain battles were fought.

If your God cannot produce a spokesman, a soldier, a warrior, he cannot be very great. That was the undermining implication.

Goliath was big and he terrified the people of God.

In so many nations across the world just now the Church of Jesus Christ is being bullied and persecuted.

The arrogance at times of those who oppose the people of God is astounding.

What was happening in heaven? What was God going to do? Ah, we have a spiritual stratagem to deal with this individual.

Soon he would be deflated and lying exposed on the ground. This voice of braggadocio was about to be silenced.

King Saul kept putting it off, and delaying, and that is no way to handle a bullying giant.

Some bullies are only eight and nine years old, and they can cause havoc in children’s lives and family situations.

Father sends young David with food for his brothers, who were in the front line of the army of Israel, and David hears the defiant voice of the bellowing Goliath.

The men of Israel withdrew in fear, but David is the man for the moment. The welfare and survival of the kingdom of Israel would depend upon David’s skill.

God always has a man for various serious circumstances.
