Word from Nairnshire
by Sandy Shaw
It has been an arduous twelve months for some since the financial crisis broke.
Many have experienced a difficult year, as the battle over bonuses continues to rage.
Bonuses have the new name of variable compensation, with the hope that ordinary people will overlook or forget what has been going on, whilst a few continue to earn more in a year than most will earn in a lifetime.
We have heard of greed, and deception verging on corruption, but not once have I heard the word, sin, and that is basically what has caused the hurt, distress, and an incredible level of debt.
A number of years ago a unique man was raised up and given the necessary courage to speak out. There was a crisis in the nation. The consequences were similar, and the root cause was identical.
What had gone wrong was clearly pointed out, but the leadership would not entertain such thinking.
It was then, Jeremiah explained that the harvest is past, and the summer has ended, and we are not saved.
God had raised up a man who had the solution which would have seen the nation being rescued and delivered from the serious circumstances it was in.
No one paid Jeremiah much attention. The thinking was that we will muddle along as best we can.
Next year it will rain, and we will have a better harvest. Oh yes, our conditions will improve!
They did not improve and the people had to pay a high price indeed, in political, social, and national terms, as they were carted off into captivity.
This is an hour for the Church of Jesus Christ to arise and be prophetic, so that those who are sorely hurting may be rescued and healed and soothed.
