Word from Nairnshire

Early on in his ministry God gave Jeremiah amazing pictures. Each began with a question. “What do you see?”

“I see the branch of an almond tree.” It was a very simple picture, but its significance gradually unfolded.

There is a play on the Hebrew words here. The almond tree is the first to blossom in spring, and the blossom comes before the leaves. In Israel, it is a sign of spring and awakening after winter.

It is called ‘the waker tree’, and God speaks about waking and watching.

God was about to spring into action. He is awake, alert, watching, and about to act. Jesus used simple pictures too.

To some the branch looked dead, but now it was all going to come alive, and Jeremiah had the spiritual insight to understand what God was revealing.

Another question quickly follows. “What do you see?”

“I see a boiling pot tilting away from the north.”

Are you seeing all this Jeremiah? Are you seeing clearly what I am showing you?

He writes it all down and awaits an interpretation.

The enemies of Judah are going to boil over into your country. Nations from the north are going to invade Israel, and they did. It all came true.

Why did this happen? The people had forsaken the true God and had run after other gods, burning incense to them, having fallen into idolatry.

How many see and understand what is happening in our nation just now?

This is a day for the prophetic voice of the Church of Jesus Christ to speak distinctly. This is an hour for concerted prayer and courageous witness, as secularism, materialism, humanism, and various occult practices arise and spread.

What do you see? What is being poured out? Does this concern you?
