Word from Nairnshire

It all began with a personal testimony, but it did not end there.

Sharing your testimony as to how you met Jesus Christ and how you came to believe in Jesus Christ is important.

Have you ever given your testimony? Have you used the opportunities and openings which God has given you to share your faith? Do the people around you in your family and neighbourhood and work know your story, even though they may not pay much attention to it?

These Samaritans came to believe, not just because of the woman’s testimony, but because they had heard Jesus, and they knew that this man was the Saviour of the world.

Jesus came to save, rescue, and forgive Jews, Samaritans and Gentiles.

John also teaches us that he was there when this world was created. Do you know of any other faith that comes near that?

It was John who drew people’s attention to the two main aspects of the life and ministry of Jesus. He was the one who would take away sin and he was the one who would baptise with the Holy Spirit.

There is no one in the whole cosmos who can do either of these two things.

Jesus is the supreme expert in these vital areas of life, and normally men listen to experts, but not in this instance.

The world did not recognise him then, and the story today is not all that different.

It was the Samaritan people who first recognised that Jesus Christ was the Saviour of the world.

Prejudice could have said that he is only another Jewish nationalistic prophet, but having met Jesus and having experienced Jesus, there was this revelation that he is the Saviour, and he is for everyone who would receive, accept, and believe in him.
