No matter how hard you try, you cannot turn the clock back, but sometimes even disciples of Jesus Christ want to turn the clock back.

Seven disciples of Jesus wanted to turn the clock back some three years, but it was all a bit of a disaster. It normally is.

We can think things were better yesterday. Reference is made to the good old days, but they were not always that good.

The Bible warns us about thinking that days gone by were better.

Can it be possible to have met the risen and living Lord Jesus Christ and yet face impending disaster? Yes.

Many over the years have thought and even said, "Och, I'm fed up with this whole church thing."

These men had met Jesus Christ risen from the dead. Jesus had given them peace. Jesus had breathed new life into them. You would have thought that would have answered all their questions and doubts. Surely that would have dealt with all their problems.

Seven men went back home to the fishing. What was going through their minds?

They had been through a traumatic experience. Are they suffering from shock? Had all this resurrection stuff just been just a dream?

Do they think that the real world is out there, rather than in the fellowship of disciples?

"It was all right when He was with us, but now it looks as if we have to work things out on our own."

They had been accustomed to working in the harsh business world, with fish, boats, nets, markets and money.

They are struggling, and the Bible does not try to hide or conceal this.

Suddenly and surprisingly Jesus Christ appears on the shore and meets their very real needs.
