Heaven
Date Posted: January 8, 2008

Like repentance, heaven is a similar subject, in as much as not many speak about heaven these days. How strange.

This is the promise of Jesus Christ to disciples, concerning our eternal home after it is all over down here, and yet, we are not told much about heaven.

Jesus never sat down with His disciples and explained the glory and majesty of heaven.

Paul refers to heaven when he speaks about being taken up to paradise. What he saw so amazed him that he had no language to describe it.

Whatever he witnessed, it so impacted him that for the rest of his life he longed to be there. His continual desire was to go home and be with the Lord.

Heaven is not a myth, nor some degree of wishful thinking to get you through the hard times!

So, where is heaven? It is being with Almighty God!

We know that a new heaven and new earth is coming, and at its centre will be the capital city, the New Jerusalem. The throne of God is in heaven, and Jesus Christ is there, as are innumerable angels.

Once there, we will behold Jesus face to face, having immediate personal access to Jesus Christ. If that alone were all that heaven is, that would be enough for me!

We will rule with God as kings and priests, and we shall reign on the earth. We shall serve Him, being given assignments which we will be able to carry out without sin.

Where is it? It is where Jesus Christ and the Father are.

Jesus is preparing a place, and He will come for those who are His, to guide them safely home. Are you His?

Where will you be on that day?
